Gare du Nord Paris Nord (the busiest railway station in Europe)

Initially, Gare du Nord was one stop on the train from CDG to Downtown Paris. It is a ride through the suburbs, which look not drastically different from the Chicago Suburbs. After years we realized, that when traveling to Montmartre, you don’t need to ride all the way South into Paris, then back up North through the Metro. You could depart at Gare du Nord, then make the short trip west to Montmartre.
During the transit strikes of 2019, the train stopped at Gare du Nord and we walked over (avoiding the congested and stagnant) Metro to Gare du Lyon, hoping for find a train out to Versailles.
